The Wagon Wheel Shoppe is located in scenic Ruidoso, in New Mexico's historic Lincoln County. Set against a background of mountains and endless sky, The Wagon Wheel offers many items reminiscent of the Southwest. Friendly and knowledgeable staff members help customers with everything from genuine Native American jewelry and dream-catchers to bears carved of white pine.
Other specialties include gemstone jewelry and unique bead jewelry from GR Bar Designs in nearby Capitan, the home of Smokey Bear. One wall of the shoppe is devoted to crosses made by local artisans, others feature artwork representing bears, eagles, wolves, and horses. Several cases and shelves contain knives from functional to collectible, including those recalling Lincoln county's well-known outlaw Billy the Kid.
Also popular are fairies of all kinds, both day fairies and night fairies. The work of fantasy artists is available on tiles, frameable prints, mouse pads, bookmarks, compacts, and other items. And there are handcrafted fairy doors, which invite the little people into a home or garden. Unicorns and Pegasus are present, too. Would you like some fairy dust or a magic wand? Or perhaps you are interested in dragons, skull jewelry, and medieval weapons like sabers and daggers. The Wagon Wheel has them all.
Recently, the Wagon Wheel moved into a larger shop next door, with original wood floors, fireplace, and open beam ceiling.
